I am slowly dying....

I am slowly dying......I weigh 360 lbs, and desperately need bariatric surgery....I do not have health insurance, and can't seem to find anyone that understands that this is an emergency. I also have custody of my grandchildren, ages 6 & 9, and I am the only thing between them and a foster home....I am terrified of what will become to these children, if I die, or am unable to care for them. If anyone out there has any idea as to where I can get help here in Kentucky, PLEASE let me know. I appreciate so much any ideas that I might recieve. God Bless.

Jean, Do you qualify for Medicaid or Medicare? I do know that both of these programs may approve WLS if considered to be medically necessary. If you think that you may qualify for either of these, contact the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 or your local Medicaid office

Jean, I was thinking the same thing that Mimi wrote. If you have medicare or medicaid, they will fund this type of surgery. (as I understand it) Raising a child should qualify you for some sort of assistance. I would encourage you to go to the local social services center and tell them your situation and maybe a social worker can assist you in the right direction to get you the help you need.
