I'm heartbroken, in tears

Good lord, is this the day for bad news? I posted this morning about my friend Armilda's hubby having lukemia. That is bad enough. Now I just called another old friend one who joined OH last year, she and her husband both had rny this past March. Her name is Donna Hanvey and her hubby is Brian. Donna and I usually talk online everyday. Several times a day. We've been friends for 7 yrs now even though they live down in Tn and we're up here. I haven't heard from her in 3 weeks and I guess I've been so selfishly absorbed in my own troubles I hadn't given it much thought till now. So I called down to where she works and asked for her. (I'm so heartbroken, I can barely see to type so I apologize if I'm not making much sense or I misspell) She answered and I asked her what was wrong. It seems that on Sept 29, 06 her husband Brian was riding his motorcycle and a woman ran a redlight. She hit him. He was critically injured. He has numerous broken bones, including back, pelvis, shoulder out of place. The time of the accident he had a ruptured aorta (sp?) and they said it was a miracle he lived. Now, they're saying it will be a miracle if he's not paralyzed from the waist down. So please say a prayer for these 2 wonderful, loving people. They've shared over 20 yrs together, have a son, daughter in law, and they've been on this weight loss journey together since March, they're surgerys were 3 weeks apart. Heres the link to Donnas page and a address for the hospital he's in down in Nashville for a card of encouragement. They need all the love and encouragement they can get. I'm sorry to come on here again and post about this especially since I posted about Armildas hubby having lukemia this morning, that is still bad but he's got the kind they can fight. I'm just so torn up for Brian and Donna. Say a little prayer for them. Well our accident was no where near as bad. We're pretty blessed to be as well as we are. Donna and Brian are good people, this breaks my heart for them.

I am feeling stronger..... just getting really tired of the 2 cc's of soup three times a day!! Dr. Shina said that I need to do this diet until I have my followup appointment with him on this coming Tuesday (Halloween!) Do you think he will tell me some various of foods that I can then start eating? I almost dread eating three times a day because I AM NOT HUNGRY and I am tired of soup!!! Some of my staples look like they are working themselves out of my incision, I hope he takes them all out on Tuesday at my appointment. I am not going to church again this Sunday (I have been the pianist for 30 years there), because I just don't think I am up to playing the piano yet. How long was it before you went anywhere. I hope all of your family is feeling better.

Hey Kathy, it was at my 3 week appt that I got to have regular foods. I didn't get hungry much at all for the first 5 months or so. Then the head hunger came back, it comes and goes. I had open and it took me at least 6 weeks before I felt anywhere near normal. I would get out and go places but I tired easily and had to wear that binder everywhere. I wore it to church, gospel singings, everywhere. It does get better. The first month is the hardest. Let me know how your appt goes. We're doing better. I hope Adam goes back to work soon, he's driving me nuts being at home.

((((((((((Angela))))))))))) I am so, so sorry about your friends. Consider a prayer said for them and I sincerely hope that the situation improves for your friends husband. You have so much going on in your life, please do your best to take care of you. I don't want to see you get overwhelmed. I do know what you mean about the hubby's being home and driving us nuts! My dearest is doing his best not to drive me insane, but sometimes his trying is what is pushing me over the edge. He goes back to work on Friday--if all goes well with his Dr.'s apppointment on Wednesday. Well, you're in my prayers too and I do hope you're alright-- Dee
