Umm, Delicate subject, not for young eyes.:)
Too late SB, the tears are streaming down my face and my sides are hurting!
You guys are a hoot.
My dear hubby farted infront of me not even an hour after we first met. Now you'd think that would have been a clue to me that he was a stinker, but hey, what can I say except love is blind.
We have a working rule in the house that no farting can be done infront of me. However, because the gas is now an offense from mine own arse, it's like an unworded permission to him, "go ahead, fart!"
We're the musical family, tooting the Star Spangle Banner!
Angela, when it gets real bad for me, I do use GasX and it does help.
Thanks for the laugh guys!
Dee

LOL Dee! I'm going to get me some gas x today cause I'm hurting myself now. Oh Adams surgeon called him and yelled at him for bending over, stooping, welding, all the dumb crap he was doing. It seems a little bird called the dr and tattled on him. He is supposed to take it easy and not do a thing till he sees the dr next Wed. The dr said Adams back was really bad and he had to do alot of extra stuff in there. He did fix it but it won't stay fixed it Adam keeps farting around and hurting himself. He's now on punishment lol, if I catch him doing anything I'm kicking his butt!
There is a medicine -- called DEVROM. This is used alot in the BPD-DS (biliopancreatic diversion-duodenal switch) population and not as much in gastric bypass patients. It shouldn't be an issue at all with Lap-Band patients. Basically it is a bowel deoderant. It doesn't reduce the amount of gas, it is supposed to cover up the odor. I have only seen it online. We used to have a few samples, but not anymore. I include the web link below. Good luck!!! Also, you may need to avoid certain foods -- the same foods colostomy patients should avoid. You may get more air in your system if you chew gum, talk fast, or drink thru a straw. With gastric bypass and band surgery, once the air is in your stomach, it has to go thru your whole GI tract and your not likely to be able to burp it out.
