Weird tummy pain

Last night about 2am I woke up with sharp, shooting pains in my tummy. They were localized right around my belly button area most of the time. Well it started there. Adam said it was probably gas, but I've never had gas pain so bad that it woke me up and kept me up for over 2 hours. I couldn't lay down, I couldn't sit for long periods of time, I walked and walked. I did pass gas 2 times (sorry for sharing that but in case it was gas pains and some of u have been thru this, I'd like your input on it) it seemed to help some. When it hurt really pain it was most definitely a 10 on the pain scale. I would sit all hunched over holding my tummy, I walked all hunched over. It finally stopped hurting so bad around 4am and I laid back down. Its not really hurting this morning. Durning this time last night I did feel some gurgling down there, like gas bubbles I guess. yeo angela thats how my pain started wheni had my first hernia,and mine would get so bad that i would pray for the good lord to take me,i would have to pull my legs up to my face and get in fetal position,but dont let it go buy again if it dont feel right most of the time its not,but let me say gas can tear me up like that also........vickie

I have been in the ER this week with the same pain! It's on the left side of my belly button and around it. Especially when I cough or sneeze..OMG it burns and hurts sooo bad. They done xrays and a CT scan but still can't figure out where it's coming from. My PCP said that if it was a hernia I should've been experiencing some sort of pain prior to WLS. I don't know...but as soon as you find out let me know Nat

Mine doesn't hurt all the time, it was just for about 2 hours. I am thinking it was gas for me cause I could feel something like "bubbles" and of course this sounds gross, tacky and very unladylike but I felt like I needed to pass gas but couldn't. I went out today and got some Gas X and if it happens again I'll try that. If that doesn't help then I may need to call and see if I should make an appt with Dr Shina. Hey Angela, sorry your having a bad time. Maybe its just a bad belly ache. I had the same type of pain when my bowel kinked but the tell tale sign of trouble for me was i couldn't eat. It came right back up. We are all so afraid of our new pouch and forget it can be a normal stomach virus, ect. Don't mess around, if the pain comes back go get it checked out. Hope you had a good new years eve anyway. We had panned on camping but didn't. Grace had a cold. We took a big walk yesterday. I have to get back on track. I gained 5 lbs. OMG. Its ok I am out of my routine and not working out, exercise is the key. You and your family take care, talk to you soon. Jane

I think it was just a virus. I gotta start working out again too. Its been cold today and we've all got cabin fever. Allison's getting over a cold and I'm in the middle of one. Adam feels so much better with his back but its cold and none of us want to get out and do anything. Take care.
