This is a post for Adam, its a man thing. The time is drawing nearer for us to start thinking new vehicles. I've picked the Toyota Sienna Mini Van. Adam my hubby was going to go with the Toyota Tacoma ext cab pick up. I was thinking that it would better on gas than some of the bigger ones. He is now "thinking" about a bigger truck but a diesel motor. He'd like some feedback from those of u who may have the bigger diesels and some from those of u who have smaller trucks like the tacomas, sonomas, etc. Thanks Angela & Adam

Hi Angela, i would stick with a toyota,i had one that lasted on and on,my hubby had a small chevy s10 that didnt use any gas hardly. But now he went and got a jeep grand cherokee, and it gets about 18 miles a gallon,so see it cost him about 40 a week in gas now but the smaller truck was like 20 a week. So i guess Adam will need to investagate which would be best for your family lol,now i have the family car. It takes us every where we need to go. We save the jeep for luxury as hubby says, but i would drive it everyday if he would let me,ive only drove it 2 times in 1 yr. Well the point is i like toyotas and i love the mini van also...................good luck. vickie

Ange, Diesel engines last longer and get better gas mileage. He may want to look at a Ford F-250 Super Duty with a power stroke diesel engine. They estimate that these engines will get at least 275,000 miles with only scheduled maintenance. The Dodge Heavy-Duty with the *******s Turbo-Diesel is also nice. I am a United Auto Worker so I am prejudiced toward the American made models, especially with the financial problems the Big-3 are having right now. Ford trucks also have some of the highest quality and customer satisfaction ratings there are.

He likes the looks of the big trucks but the smaller toyota will be better on gas. Hows the weight loss going?

The weight loss is going great. I normally only weigh on Fridays since that is the day I had my surgery, but yesterday was the four month anniversary of my surgery so I got on the scale. I am down 131 pounds and 10 inches in my waist. I was wearing a 56 in my waist on the day of surgery and am now in a 46. I actually put on a pair of 44s a couple of days ago but they are a bit more snug than I prefer. Dr. Shina says he wants me around 250 but I would like to go to 225. I have weighed as little as 200 before but look too thin at that weight. I am looking forward to my BMI going below 40 and only have about a point and a half to go. It feels great to exercise again. I have been riding 14-15 miles a day on a bike at the gym. I always hate doing it at the time but feel so much better after I have. You are looking great. I am looking forward to looking that thin and healthy again. Steve

Does he plan on pulling a trailer? Every day? Do you work a farm on the side? Got to pull a lot of stumps? If the answer is no, then stick with the Toyota or maybe a Nissan.Yeah the diesel pickup is a lot better looking there are a bunch of issues with them to make you hate them after a while. Unless of course you make your own biodiesel or someone who will let you have it at a greatly reduced rate. Yeah I wouldn't mind picking up an '02 powerstroke superduty and playing with it, but that is rather cost prohibitive to me. I would stick with Toy for right now. An '03 taco 4x4 extended cab sounds good and looks good. Hey Adam, how about a really nice '99 chevy tahoe 4x4 that has been played with nicely. A good mix of accessories to it. hehe I would show you a picture but then you might want to buy it from me.

i have a 99 f350 powerstroke 4x4 four door that has 225,000 miles on it and it runs like a champ still and i get around 19.43 miles to the gallon, not bad for a 1 ton pickup as a daily driver frankieb

Mike would love to have a Toyota Tacoma, so he'll definitely be pea-green with envy over Adam! Did you know that diesil engines can run on used vegetable oil? Yeaup, they can; saw it on Mythbusters this last weekend. What a hoot. Good luck with your decision! Dee
