Looking in Louisville

I am looking for some friends in Louisville who are getting ready to have Lap Band or have recently had Lap Band surgery. I want to put some support in place for when I have my surgery. Anybody interested? Sarah

I am getting ready to have the RNY and would love a support group as well. I live in Shepherdsville and can easily get to Louisville. My All day appt with Dr. Oldham is Tuesday.

Lesa, My idea here is to have some people locally I can talk to so I would love to talk to you and get to know you. I don't know Dr. Oldham. I have chosen another doctor and I am waiting to get my referral letter from my PCP to submit my packet of info. What hospital does Dr. Oldham use? You have decided on the RNY. What made you decide on that surgery? Sarah

Dr. Oldham is at Georgetown Bariatrics in Georgetown Ky. I meet with him Tuesday to get my surgery date. I have already been oked by the insurance. I have been working on this process since June. I decided on Drs. Oldham and Weiss because I have a friend that used them and couldnt say enough good about him. I decided on Roux N Y because I am what they call a grazer. I don't just overeat at meals. And I LOVE ICE Cream so I need something that will keep me from eating it. I could also snack all day with the lapband and that scares me. I just want the most assurance I can get that I will behave myself.

Just dont forget NEVER TRY REG ICE CREAM AGAIN,AFTER SURGERY, i had a friend try it and cake and guess what she does not dump....so this is what i do i get the breyers sweetened with splenda. And it helps out alot,but i have heard great things about these docs......................vickie

Vickie I know there are those who do not dump so I am not intending to try ice cream I keep teoling myself that it will make me deathly ill. :-) I have to do that or I will eat it I know. I love the way your picture peals away how did you do that? Lesa

Sarah S did it for me thats on here. I love it but i think she will be off for awhile due to some family things,but she is such a sweetie and im sure if you emailed her later on she would try her best to help you.........vickie
