I am so happy to find this chat page i am getting ready to have the surgery with the same doctor you guys have. I am planning my surgery for march of this year would love some advice.

Hi Tracey and welcome. This site is wonderful. Just make a list of questions and fire. I found this site 2 years ago. I am 15months out. I would suggest reading profiles, going to the question and answer section. But most important, if its on your mind ask, somebody surely has had the experience. Good luck on your journey. Jane

Thank you Jane you had Dr. Sonnanstine that is who i am seeing. I have friends that i know at work who has had the surgery as well. One lady did the Lap Band and only lost 40 pds in one year that was why i chose not to do the lap band. I have my nutrition appt. monday and Physic eval tuesday morning . Wish me Luck Maybe i will see you in support groups.

You are welcome Tracey. Dr. Tom is awsome. I was the first in the family to have this done and in a little over a year my niece , my older sister and my younger sister all have had WLS. My youngest sister Mimi had the band. You do lose slower. Its hard for her because we are all dropping weight like crazy but she was a light weight and bypass wasn't an option. It been so neat having such a big family support system. I don't think I could have done it with out them and did I mention Dr. Tom is the best. The program we all go thru is wonderful and the after care is great. Keep us posted. Hope you get a date real soon. Jane
