He didn't know it was me!!!

Post Date: 1/18/07 4:45 pm I had a wow moment today. One that made me smile all afternoon. Today I ran into an old friend of mine I haven't seen in over 7 years. I knew him when I worked at a little truck stop before I met Adam my husband (he wasn't my boyfriend just a friend) he'd come in every day to get lunch from our deli. His dad and cousin were also good friends of mine. Then I met and married Adam who was a trucker at the time, a yr after we married he stopped trucking and went to work for the same factory as my old friend Doug. Adam knows Doug and his family and I used to be close buddys. Dougs dad is the sweetest man alive, next to Adam of course lol. Well in the past 7 yrs I haven't seen Doug at all. I saw his dad last summer. I've sent Christmas cards, said hey on the phone, said hi thru Adam seeing him at work, even talked to him at work one night when Adam called me. Well today Adam went in to pick up his check stub. He parked close to the front door and went it. I saw Doug come out and of course I jumped out of the truck and was going to jump on him and hug him silly. I said Hey Doug, how are u? I was excited to see him since I hadn't in so long and I was smiling like a lunatic. He just looked at me like I was a nutcase. Adam came out and walked up behind me while Doug was still trying to figure out who I was. I said Don't u remember me? He was like, umm, no. He just looked at me like who the heck are u, u crazy blond? He said hey to Adam and was going to walk off. I said Doug, I'm married to this crazy freak, don't u know me now? He turned around and looked at me again and he said no, I knew Angela when Adam was married to her but I guess they're not together anymore. I didn't think I was going to convince him who I was there for a min. Of course, I was laughing Adam was laughing. Doug finally looked at me, really looked at me and said Wow, is it really u? His mouth dropped, it was so cool. Of course, then I got hugged silly. He was laughing and saying wow, u have freaked me out! It was a wow moment to smile about all afternoon. He was like, dang, I thought Adam had got another woman. He said my voice was familiar but he couldn't believe how different my looks were. Then I ran into a boy I went to school with later and he just ruined my day, well not really but I'm a woman and I got to complain about something. He didn't have any trouble at all recognizing me. He said hey Adam, hey Ange. I said Stephen how do u know its me? I know, that was arrogant of me, right? But I was kind of curious. He said well, you've dyed your hair and lost weight but your eyes are the same and I remember Adam. Oh well. The whole thing with Doug was enough to light me up all day. LOL Angela thats a good woww!!!! I had went to my hubbys work and his boss went back and got my hubby and said youre daughter is here.............so when my hubby came to the front it was me....my daughter is 11,i was like do i really look that young,but my frame is small and my hubby is large and he has alot of gray lol. My hubby is 3 years older than me but let me tell ya i loved the fact that i do get carded when i go out now..............................take care!!!!! Vickie

Oh my goodness, I had the same thing happen while Adam was off work! I went in to get his bonus check before Christmas and one of his co workers was standing there at the guard shack and when I told the guard I was there for Adam's check the man said oh are u his daughter? I laughed my butt off, I said no but thanks for the laugh. Adam's 10 yrs older than me. I'll be 30 in April. I love it!
