Hello Everyone!!! Well I got discharged from the ICU/Georgetown Hospital at 12:45 today. I had my surgery on Jan. 8th, 2006 with no complications. I still have no complications from my surgery which is good. Anyways I have had a rough weekend. I had been feeling really, really good each day since my surgery, better each and every day. Friday started out good as well, just kind of tired though. Anyways about 9:30 or 10:00 Friday night I got home from town and felt bad, stomach was kind of cramping....I ate a tums and went to bed...woke up at about 1 a.m. and was really dizzy, so I went back to bed...then I woke back up about 3 and went to the bathroom and then ultimatly passed out on the floor...I had a bloody stool (sorry to write that but it goes along with this surgery) My mother ended up taking me to the GCH about 8 that morning and was admitted to the ER and they called DR. Weiss....turns out after they put the scope down my throat that I had developed a Superficial Ulcer since surgery...this isn't a full on ulcer, more like an irritated or scrape (pre ulcer) in my stomach that bleed quite a bit. I was quite scared having all of this going on... After great care from the ICU and GCH I'm so much better than I was Saturday morning. The ulcer was most likely caused by my previous history of smoking (3 yrs prior to surgery) or some other factors....but anyways...I beleive that Georgetown Community Hosp, Staff and Doctors are GREAT!!! I have never met so many professional and CARING people....

I feel 100% better from Saturday, but I'm not at 100% total. I dropped of my scripts @ Rite Aid and they can't have them until tomm. Makes me mad in a way. They had to call the insurance to get pre approval for these scripts...I can't remember what one is...but I know I'm on protonics? they are to heal my stomach/pouch....

Protonics is one that my surgeon just switched me too from prisolec. I asked them to because our insurance changed and the new one wouldn't cover my prisolec at all. I am taking one a day to help prevent ulcers in the old pouch, at least thats what I think its for. Since surgery I'm been taking the prisolec one in the morning, 2 multivitamins, 1 50mg zinc I take for my hair loss, 1 5000mcg biotin also hair loss, and at night a iron pill. U would think that since u need the meds they'd have some way of getting them thru tonight for ya. That kind of sucks. Hey, isn't Richmond pretty close to Florence? Maybe one night when my hubby Adam and I come up to meet Ryan, Amy, Sarah, Mimi, Jane and Michelle, we can get together with u too. We live in Elizabethtown and hopefully one night when everyone's off and not doing anything we can run up and go bowling or just sit around and shoot the crap with all u northern guys lol. Hope u get to that 100% soon. Sorry to hear u have had trouble.
