After an uneventful (laparoscopic) surgery and fairly uneventful hospital stay, I got released yesterday morning. My husband drove me home. Luckily the snow had melted from the roads. I feel like the luckiest person in the world today. I dont regret this surgery one bit! I feel like I'm healing on schedule. I've not had any pain worth mentioning. Other than a little nausea on nights 1 & 2, everything has gone as smooth as butter. All of your kind words have meant a lot to me. So thanks to everyone that has encouraged me in any way. I'll post more later. -Cathryn

Cathryn, Remember to take it easy, but walk often. I was comforted in that first week with warm broth in a mug, as well as popsicles. I hope that you will have smooth sailing throughout all of this. Remember, you have friends here and ask any questions you want. Your feelings will be all over the place too - that is normal. I'm so happy for you!! Welcome to the Losers Side!!! - Ginger

You know, I looked at the carnation instant breakfast, and it said "No sugar added." Is that ok? Or does it have to say "Sugar free"?

I'm feeling so much better today. Doc Steiner said I could have pureed foods starting today, so just to try it, I had the husband fix me an Egg Beaters scrambled egg and then chop it finely in the chopper. It was good, and hasn't given me any problems. I'm not trying to be toooo brave yet, though. What pureed things have you tried/liked? I think I'm gonna send the husband to the store for some Carnation Instant Breakfast.
