Gout!?!?!?!?!?!

o.k. here goes... jan 8th gastric bypass jan 19th superficial ulcer hosp 2 days now!!!! Gout, I though only elderly peeps got this crap.... give me a break here...i can't walk...i hop around on my good left leg...my right ankle feels like there are a thousand needles crammed into every muscle and bone! o.k. i vented...*sighs* I went to my family dr today and she said I had gout...she didn't want to prescribe anything for me b/c I am a gastric bypass patient...so I asked if she would call weiss/oldham to see what they thought...she said I would need to call...here I am thinking...woman my insurance just paid you and your office 225 bucks for a diagnosis and no treatment...my mom who was with me asked if they minded us calling the dr. office...they let us use the phone (i forgot my cell at home) so i got with them and they prescibed something....it is 5 pills...for treatment of gout... 12 noon 1 pill 1 pm 1 pill 4 pm 1 pill 7 pm 1 pill 10 pm 1 pill o.k. so here is the deal i have taken 3 pills and feel a little better, still can't walk...but how many more things are going to go wrong with me.....i pray and i pray and i pray nothing else...i've had my share..... ross

Oh Ross. If I could I'd hug ya. U poor thing. My brother in law had gout prior to surgery and after his lap rny he had alot of problems with it flaring up right after surgery. He was sore from surgery and could barely walk due to the gout. I don't know alot about gout. Wish I could say more to cheer u up or do more. Heres a big old cyber hug from a friend down in Etown Ky lol!

They should have another name for it gout just sounds so gouty lol. That was a poor attempt at a joke. U take care and I hope the meds take the pain away soon.
