Insurance exclusions

Hi Everyone, I just attended the lap band seminar last night and am very excited about proceeding. However I just reviewed my insurance policy and under Limitations and Exclusions it states....Treatments, services, supplies or surgeries that are NOT medically necessary, except for the specified routine preventive servies as outlined in the schedule of benefits. Then later it says Any treatment, including but not limited to surgical procedures: For obesity, whi*****ludes morbid obesity or For obesity, whi*****ludes morbid obesity, for the purpose of treating a sickness or bodily injury caused by, complicated by, or exacerbated by the obesity. So does this mean insurance is out? Is there any appeal process? I have Humana PPO, but apparently this is an exclusion that my employeer (Seven Counties) has added. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
