I finally did it !

I went to the siminar last night. Been heavy most all my life. I use food as my excuse and crutch. Well kids gone now and I am on my own. I want to be healthy. I need to be healthy I take care of me. I dont know how I am gonna afford it but I will find it somewhere but about time I did something for myself. I have worked in the medical field with mentally handicaped for over 30 years taking care of others now its my time. I NEED A MEDICAL MAKEOVER! BMI of 46 5'4 and 270 50 year old that can't tie my shoes or walk without leaking. I sleep with a machine and my joints ache so bad when I get off work I want to just sit down and watch tv and you guessed it EAT! I have Anthem blue access insurance I sure hope they accept me. I can only wait now and pray. I was shocked to here of the $4000 dollars down. I really don't know how to swing it but maybe I will sell a kidney for a stomach. Sorry bad joke. I am sure glad I ran across this web page. I am sure if I get accepted I am gonna need some support. Just to have someone at my fingertips typing right now I feel someone out there is listening. So here I am fingers crossed and waiting to here what the insurance has to say. Isnt it sad that you work all your life and take care of people who get free medical care and I am having a hard time catching a break. Have a wonderful evening everyone and I will write soon. I know how you feel. I work in the ER, I see em in and out all day long, drug seekers, others who know how to get in the system for some nice free care, a warm bed, food, and narcotics to boot while I have to go off to Mexico to afford my lapband cecause my insurance denied me and I don't have an extra 20K laying around. But, I'm doing what ever I have to do to make my life better. I can't control what others do with their lives. I am taking control of mine however, and the food that has controlled it for too damn long. Lori

Welcome aboard Charolette! Congrats on taking the initiative! You're doing something now that a lot of people dont have the courage to do, and that is taking a big step to becoming healthier. I love your attitude! Just know that you have a big support team here at OH. I am a new post-op. I just had my surgery last friday, and I do not regret it not one bit!
