question about teeth, Post-Op
This may sound crazy, but lately i've been noticing these small white dots on my teeth, that you cant really see unless i'm right up on my face in the mirror. i'm not sure what they are or what is causing them. i thought maybe i was brushing to much but then i thought it had to do with the surgery. i emailed Taryn and she said Dr. Tom said I should see my dentist because I'm too soon out to have a vitamin deficiency. Has anyone else post-op had a problem like this or have any suggestions??? how about a good dentist? lol
thanks!!!!
Hey Tiffany, I researched this question then took it to the one person that knows her stuff when it comes to vitamin deficiencies..
Dr. Jacques is the chief science officer for Life Sciences, (Bariatric Advantage)
here is her reply:
Brenda - white spots on teeth occur for a lot of reasons - most are non-nutritional like acid reflux, fluorosis, use of bleaching agents, etc.
Nutritionally, the most common cause would be vitamin D deficiency - which can occur simply in obesity even without surgery. So that could be possible.
She might want to consult her dentist.
Does this help?
