Well I am at 108 at 16 mo out and im still losing. And the more you eat you will maintain, but i am eating 8 times a day 3000 cal and 160 carbs and im still losing,so i would say that you are no where near stopping but i dont no how much you had bypassed. I had 150cc bypassed, but everybody is diff, and i am at a dangerous weight they say, so i go back and try thrus to get help and get meds to gain weight. Take care........ Vickie

Vickie, I saw your postings on here and am somewhat new to the forum. So our success it dependent upon how much of the intestines were bypassed? I am 6 weeks out and am able to eat protein bars and since they have more calories then the shakes am concerned that I will stop losing weight or will be the only one to not lose! I would love to lose as much as you, Ive lost 28.5 pounds and sometimes even though this is unrealistic would have preferred 40! Did you ever think about food even though you were not hungry? I hate this but this is what I am doing. I just wanted to know if it was normal or not. And I know everyone is different. You are an inspiration!

Hi Kelly, The protein bars are fine. I have been eating them since i was 4 weeks out. When i first had this surgery i could do liquids better so i had 3 protein shakes a day. But when i was around 6 mo out i could eat protein bars. I will tell you that the more i made sure i got my protein in that i kept losing, but as soon as i wasnt eating or getting all my fluids in i would hit a stall. I did hit my goal early at 6 mo. But i am struggling right now trying to maintain. I do think of food alot. I was craving chocolate covered kisses wed and i had 3 .............boy 1 to many..........i dumped hard. I even found myself early on sucking the cheese off the doritos lol. But i no what my body needs now. If i eat junk like pizza, chips, or bread. I get hungry to quick. So i do stick to protein first. And yes it is hard but this is what my body needs not what my head wants sometime. I can walk by long john silvers and im like oh i want a piece of deep fried fish and you no what i went in and got a piece, but it was baked lol and it was to die for.....................Kelly you will do great you just have to stick to the rules and you will be a success, there is another lady on here Princess Sarah and she also is at her goal very early also and she is a success. I also was gonna tell you that i did have to much bypassed for my starting weight i was 255lbs and had 150 bypassed and last week i had my pouch measured when i had an upper gi and at 17 mo out mine is still the size of a thumb. You take care and you will be there in no time!!!! Vickie
