im just so sick................

Hi all my ky family,i am here to just rant and be a pain i guess. Im so sick,i woke up friday with a little tightness in my chest so i started takind meds. Well sat i couldnt even eat. I get so nauseated after i eat,i am on soft foods also. So sunday i get up and i am so dizzy and i feel like crap. So i go get some robatussin syrup and took it,well 20 min later im sicker than a dog,im sweating and cramping and im so weak,i dumped off the syrup,but i was never told i couldnt have syrup and only pills. Well by that night i fixed some hot tea and hit the couch,well the next thing i no i am waking up by hubby.....he says hunny you just threw up on the pillow,but i was asleep,so i get up and clean myself and do to bed,well 3 am i threw up again on my pillow,i mean yellow yuck.....so i called Dr Neighbert and told lillian that im sick,well i am also feeling dizzy and i cant keep anything down and i have only peed 3 times yesterday,so she calls me back and tells me she will speak to the doc and i need to get fluids.I dont wanna go back to the hospital because im scared of what will go on. The last time i got like this i had picc line in my neck because all my veins would not take the iv,i no that the longer i wait i will get sicker. I just hope he calls and gives me some ideas of what i need to do. Well i will keep ya updated.........................vickie

Vickie, hope you get to feeling better real soon, it really sucks when your sick doesnt? i have been battling with my sinuses for a few weeks now and they make me sick to my stomach, and the dizziness to, maybe you have a sinus infection, I just wanted to tell you that i hope you feel better soon. Hi Vickie, I am sooo sorry that you are feeling bad. You are in my prayers. No one ever said this would be easy, but sometimes I wonder if it is worth it. I know it is. I just have to keep reminding myself. I, too, am feeling like crap again. I had an EGD about 2 1/2 weeks ago and ever since I have had pain my left side and stomach and I am having panic attacks all the time. This was my 7th or 8th EGD and I have never had pain like this before. I called Dr. Geller's office and they told me that it could be because of the small ulcer they found. "Sometimes the small ulcers hurt worse than the big ones". I find that hard to believe. I had to have an ulcer removed in December and practically had the bypass surgery again and this pain is nothing like that. Since my surgery in April I have been in and out of the hospital with infections, dehydration, surgery. You name it, I have had it. I too had a PICC line. I have had 3 PICC lines. My veins are shot. It is nearly impossible for me to get blood work, much less an IV because I have no veins. I was in the hospital last year for 11 days for a PICC lince infection that attacked my kidneys. That was not fun. I am terrified of PICC's. I went to my PCP over a week ago and of course I am dehydrated and my potassium was low. My PCP wanted me to call Dr. Geller, but I knew that would land me back in the hospital with another PICC line. I am trying to drink, but I am not doing very well and I only pee twice a day if I am lucky. I have called Dr. Geller's office quite a few times telling his nurse that the pain is not the same but is terrible. So now I have increased my pain meds until my next EGD February 19th. Hang in there and let me know what your doc says. With everything I have been through, I still tell people that I would do the surgery again, but some days it gets harder and harder to say that. Ana did you have a history of ulcers before your surgery? If not do they say what causes them? I hope your doing much better also. I sometimes get a little scared when I read these kind of things. Good luck Cynthia

Ana i feel for you,i have been keeping up with your story every since i seen it in the main boards. I am so scared to even go to the hospital,because the tell me i must have a picc line and i need to get hydrated. But this time i just told hubby the only way im going out of this house is if the carry me out....im just tired and wanna feel like wls was the best answer for me,but as of today its not........you take care hun. Hey girlie, If you need anything let me know, I'm just down the road. I have found when I am sick like that warm fluids stay on me better than anything else. Did the tea help? Chamomille tea usually helps settle the stomach. Please don't wait too long to get hydrated. I know a picc line would suck, but much better than the alternative. Is it the cold or sinus thats making your stomach upset? Advil cold and sinus always helped me alot. Doc S told me it was OK to take that OCCASIONALLY as long as I took some prilosec with it. You may want to check with him on that. Hope your better soon!

well i am in deed of fluids,yes it is all in my chest,i mean steven woke me up last night to tell me i was sick. And i have been puking light green foam all day.I was told to go to the hospital but im scared. I am just waiting to see if i get better tonight,if not i will go to st joe first thing tomm for fluids. But i just want to get them and come back home.But i no that wont happen if i go. I feel like i am such trouble for st joe. But Dr.Neighbert said go get mucinex so i did and we will see.But if i get worse i will sure let ya no............thanks...........vickie

Mucinex is good stuff. I will be in Lex all day tomorrow for meetings etc, please call me, or have Steven call me and let me know how you are.

Ana & Vicki, I am so afraid of having to do what you two ladies have done!! (The PICC Line.) When I know I'm not getting enough potassium in, I drink lots of Orange Juice; eat baked potatoes and bananas, if I can. As for the liquids, if I'm not getting enough or feel like I"m getting dehydrated, I buy Pedialyte. They have it in bubble gum and fruit flavor. If I get tired of drinking it, I just make popscicles out of it. I drink some gatorade too, but there's nothing like good old ice water!! I hope the two of you feel better soon!! I be saying prayers for you!!! (I haven't been able to eat hardly anything since my first fill. I'm living on Slimfast High Protein Bars and Mocha Capaccino drinks I found in the produce department. It's ok for now, but I'm sure I will get tired of it in the long run. I may not ever need another fill at this point. ha ha I'm so scared of getting the flu too. I didn't have my flu shot because of all the things that were going on at the time, and surgery and all. And, everyone around me is getting it. My son and foster daughter are sick right now!! I've been spraying the Lysol like crazy and trying to stay well away from them. All I can do is keep the distance. After all, who do they run to when they are sick? Good 'ole Mom!! ha ha And, I can't just sit back and watch them suffer. It's terrible!!! I pray to God I don't get it. If I do, I will most definitely end up in the hospital!! Hi Sharee, Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers also. I never thought in this lifetime it would be so difficult to eat and drink. I am not hungry at all and stay nausea most of the time. I know that I am not drinking as much as I should. I am lucky to drink 20 oz. a day. That's why I am so afraid I am going to end up back in the hospital, but I don't see Dr. Geller until Feb. 19 for my EGD, so I hope I can hold out uintil then. Like I said, the thought of going to the hospital again sends me into panic attacks. I went to see my pulmonlogist (lung doc) today because I have been having trouble taking deep breaths and it is painful. He thinks I may have pluersy. He gave me a steroid shot and some pain meds. Lord knows I already have these. He is hoping it is not a blood clot. I have to follow up with him in a few days. I thought it was not possible to have a blood clot because I have the filter, but he told me that I have had it long enough that I could still get a clot. Just what I wanted to hear. I know what you mean about the flu. I do not get the flu shot either. I know I should with my crappy lungs but I have never had the flu. My daughter has the crud now. I told her to stay far away from me because I know if I get sick, I will have no choice but to go to the hospital, but like you said, you can't sit there and watch them suffer.
