What Do You See...

...coming out of your surgery? Before Mike and I had surgery, we made a list of things that we wanted to do (listed in my profile-journal) once we lost our weight. I am almost 5 months out now and can see the changes in my body already allowing me to do some of the things the excess weight never permitted. For example, I want to ride a bicycle again and because of the weight loss, this spring my hubby and I are going to be buying bikes. We've got a group of friends that is starting up a bike club and we're going to pick ideal places to go riding. I'm very excited about this. I think my hubby is also enjoying the bedroom stuff better. Ok, so am I. The flexibility has greatly improved and that is bonus! Our biggest one is to go on a cruise one day, down to the Caribbean and go para-sailing. I'm very much looking forward to that! I'm going back to school in the fall to finish my degree, something I almost given hope up on. It's all a new and exciting time for me. (and my hubby) So, what are some of the things you'd like to see happen from your WLS and where do you see your life going? I hope this post will generate some posting--we've been so quiet! Hope y'all are having a good day! Dee

I just had my band put on Monday and I'm going home from the hospital tomorrow. My list also includes parasailing, although I've been on 4 cruises already (I'm a cruise addict now). I also want to scuba dive, ride a horse, try to surf, and become a fitness/exercise nut. My list is long, but those are at the top of it! Thanks for sharing yours! Karen

Mike and I have never been on a cruise, so I am cruise envious of you! I imagine myself up in the air taking pictures and enjoying the beautiful sights I will see. It's a little overwhelming, because beautiful scenes always get me emotional. Thank you for responding! Dee

This post is nice Dee. I want to go horeback riding with my granddaughter this summer and also Kitrina my daughter and Sierra my G-daughter have bikes and go riding a lot in the summer, this summer I am going too. I have to find a bike that the brakes are on the pedals, I dont use hand brakes very well. I would love to go on a cruise but money will not allow that. There are so many things I can do this year that was impossible before. One tank trips will be our goal for this year, there are lots of things our state has that I havent tried due to being so big and couldnt breath very well. Life has indeed got better. I wish I had surgery long before now. I think it is wonderful that your going back to school, congratulations on that.

Hi Dee, what a great question. I've not had surgery, so I'm looking forward to everything, can't wait to start checking off all the 'to do's' off my list, especially walking. I used to walk or ride a bike 5 miles everyday, and now can't do either these days. My bike is in storage, just waiting for me. I owned a flower shop before I had to sell and apply for disability...I look forward to telling Social Security to stop the disability checks and going back to work full time. and so much more. But these are right at the top of my list. Take care ... God's Blessing on you and yours Belinda P.S I read your profile you and your husband are doing great...congratulations

Horses, bikes( both with motors and without), get the bills paid off and head back to school. That sounds like a good start. And any extra bedroom activity that I can get in too will be greatly appreciated.

Hey Katrina, I would love to go horseback riding, but I have a phobia of horses. I can get near them, as long as they're locked safely behind a fence. Thank you for sharing your to-do's with us! Dee

Belinda, I'm on disability too, so I know exactly what you mean. I didn't own my own business or anything, so I can only imagine how difficult that was for you to give that up. Mike and I are so looking forward to getting our bicycles this spring, so we can relate with you on that one. There is just so much to do! Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Dee
