Wow, that is fantastic! I'm so jealous! Not! Seriously, this is wonderful news. U have done so great! I'm so happy for u. Sarah, Jane and Mimi have all done great jobs also. Hugs Ange Anybody heard if Ryan is out of the hospital yet or not? Hadn't seen any post from him lately or heard.

Wow, it seems like u were just getting in 14's. I guess not, but it seems like it wasn't long ago. I bet u r in a 10 or 12. I'm still a 12 in those low riding jeans but in some brands and styles I can wear a 10. Let us know how the closet raid goes. Hugs Angela

Angela, I hung out in Ryans room Friday evening until around 10pm..the doc gave him the option of coming home friday or staying until Sat...I know he left Sat morning..he is doing great and I am sure he will be coming in to say hello soon..if not I will give him a call at home to see what's up.

I'm sure he'll pop in when he feels up to it. The first 3 weeks were the hardest for me. I'd never had a big incision like that before. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but it was still rough. Of course, I'm allergic to pain and I'm a huge weiner so that might be why I thought it was rough. How are u doing since plastics?

Hey Angela, I know what you mean about having a hard time after "open" surgery..Ryan was so lucky to have Dr. Sonnanstine who is a laparoscopist.. hopefully he is doing great recuperating at home..so Ryan where the heck are you??? I bet he is lurking hoping we are all asking about him..lol I am sure he is just laying around taking advantage of everyone taking care of him...just stretching it out ..kinda like I did with my plastics!! lol I have been doing great since the last surgery in Dec..Dr. Sonnanstine and Taryn took very good care of me. I was getting some TLC at home..I am usually the one taking care of everyone else..then last office visit the doc tells my husband he thinks I can change my own bandages..I said..UH hey!!..he was tucking me in every night, turning on my electric blanket, then pluggin in the wound vac, changing bandages, etc..I was so spoiled, I had him totally convinced I couldn't do it myself. ...when I told the doc, he said.."OH MY GOSH, BRENDA!!"...from that appt on my husband made me do for myself...geesshhh and I thought the doc liked me..I don't get it I will have to think of a way to pay him back.... just kidding doc

lol Adam helped me some but mine wasn't that bad. I hated those drains with a passion. They were in such a uncomfortable spot lol.

Hey Brenda, I forgot to add this to my reply earlier. I don't want anyone getting a bad impression of Dr Shina. He does do Lap rny's and the lap band. I chose the Open. At the time I just felt safer that way. Now if some of his patients are over a certain weight he might feel the open is safer. I'm not sure there. He did give me a choice and I chose the open. I know when we all get ready to have our surgerys we each chose a dr we feel we can trust and I felt that he and the open were for me. Although with all the incredible things I've heard about your alls Dr Tom, had I lived up that way I don't think I would have had a problem choosing him. He sounds like another Dr Shina in my book and coming from me thats high praise indeed lol. Just wanted to put that in there in case there are people researching. He does most of his surgerys Lap. It was me that chose the open. He also gives all his patients the chance to have a vena cava filter if they want. I did. Made me feel safer lol. Take care and I'm glad u r doing better. I haven't been on the boards much myself and hadn't seen as many post from u as I used too. I read too much. Take care.

Hey Amy, that's awesome....you have done a great job!!! I went through my daughters closet the other day, she still has things hanging in her closet here at my house even though she got married this past summer. I thought for the heck of it I would try on slacks hanging there some in dry cleaning bags..well JACKPOT!!! I found a new store of freebies. it's awesome.
