Instead of being stuck between a rock and a hard place I'm stuck between a Nissian and a Buick lol. I've been researching vehicles cause soon I plan on getting one to replace the car we totalled last October. I was thinking the Toyota Camry but with 5 of us to haul around I thinking something bigger. My favorite mini van is the Quest. I love the way its looks, I love the stuff they're putting on it. On the other hand since they came out with Rendezvous I've loved their looks also. But u can't always go by looks alone. Do any of u have a Quest or a Rendezvous? How are they on gas? I know the Quest is probably roomier. Before actually buying one I'll test drive them both to see which I like driving better. Till then though, any and all thoughts appreciated. Hugs Angela

Hey Angela, My folks drive the Toyota Sienna. I like it very much, because even before my WLS (411lbs.) It had plenty of room. I could totally see you being happy in a Sienna, because both doors open on each side of the van, the backs seats are removable if you need to haul things, and it has all kinds of amenities. I'm not sure about the gas mileage though, but I would assume it's the same as with any SUV's and vans, being about 17mpg in town and 25mpg out on the freeway. (I tried to look on Toyota's official site to look for the gas mileage, but can't find it! UGH! Anyways, a new vehicle is very exciting and I'm happy to hear things are starting to get back to normal for you guys. How's Adam handling going back to work with his back? Good to see you around-- Dee

He's doing pretty good. He's off tonight but ever since he woke up this afternoon he's had to work on his dad's water lines. I think the gas mileage on the Sienna and Quest are about the same as all of them. I did look at the Sienna also. Adam doesn't get to use his employee discount at Toyota though. Can't pass up that discount lol. How are u and Michael doing?

I say give the Buick a shot. The American auto industry is hurting and you could probably get a good deal right now. American made automobiles have high quality ratings and are quite dependable. Of course, being a United Auto Worker I am a bit biased. When you buy American made autos the money stays here but when you buy a Toyota, Honda, Kia, etc. the money is pumped back in to foreign economies. Of course there is a chance that the Buick is made in Mexico. So my final advice is: Buy Union - Buy American.

Hey Steve. Its so hard to decide which one I want, just like a woman, right? I do know that if I go with a mini van it'll be a Quest. I've researched them all and I like it better. If I'm going to spend that much money I'm going to go with what I want or I won't be happy with it. I got some negative feedback on the Buick yesterday from the main boards. But still I'm going to test drive them both. Adam will be buying a Ford 150 4x4 Supercrew when he gets ready. If he can get a good deal. He gets a employee discount from his work. Its 14% and a friend of ours retired from the Ford Plant in Louisville, they have told him if Ford's employee discount is better than his he can use it instead. He's going to check it out. I'm not a fan of the Ford Mini Vans at all. No offense to anyone who has one. I personally just don't want one. Congrats on getting below that 300 mark. Angela

Mike and I are doing fantastic Angela, thanks for asking! We are going a bit stir crazy, because I've been out of it a little bit with a complication I had from a surgery I recently had. (not WLS) I am doing better, although I think I'm going through that part of the phase from surgery where we get tired easily. I find myself without a lot of energy. I am thinking between 2 surgeries in 4 months of each other, a complication, and lack of routine, (exercise) I'm just going through a bad trip. I am definitely looking forward to some warmer weather! I miss the sunshine and being able to get outside. I also miss the smell of fresh cut green grass! I am ready for spring. I'm glad that Adam is doing better and I still want us all to get together. When I feel better and it's warmer, we will have to do so. You take care and enjoy your books! Dee

I know how the stir crazy is. We all get cabin fever around here. But it will be warm soon, or at least warm enough to get outside some. I love sitting out on my front porch in the swing. Its so peaceful out here. We've got to get together when its warmer and u r feeling better. We can run up there once and meet u guys out somewhere or u guys can come down anytime. We've got plenty of room. Since we're putting in that pool I plan on having some sort of get together this July. I want to have a pool party/b-b-q type thing. Depending on how many people say they'll come (anyone on here that wants to come will be welcome) I was thinking that if each person brought a dish of something we'd have more than enough cause hardly any of us eat alot lol. I hope everyone will be able to be here. It'd be great just to sit around and talk with everyone. Hugs and u all take care, hey, when ever u feel like it and u two want to get away for a while just come on down. We're not too far from Lexington. Maybe 80-90 miles. Adam and Ange Adams great. He's so happy to be back to work. They offered him a day shift team leader job, he's a team leader over 2 lines on nights now, but the co vice president is the one that offered him the day time position not realizing that there was 2 people in front of Adam. If they want it, then they have the shot for it first. Adam says he doesn't mind. He likes nights. I like him working nights cause it seems like he's home more. I sleep at night so I don't miss him as bad as I would in the daytime. I wish he'd let me work this fall when Allison starts kindergarten. Who knows, maybe I'll find me a little day shift job while she's at school. Take care, Ange.
