It's finally happening!
It is finally happening for me. I am scheduled for lap band on Tues., Feb. 27th. The really awesome thing is this: my mom and I are having the same surgery on the same day!! Can you believe it?? We are sooo excited, but very nervous too. We are currently doing the pre-op diet (5 days worth of it) and that has been a tough transition. I know that in the end it will be worth it. In fact, supper has been a struggle as my husband and children are in the kitchen as I type eating left over roast and potatoes. I'm on the computer typing and sipping broth from a mug. What a life!! LOL I know that the losing side is just around the corner for me...and I can't wait to be a success story like the ones I've read on this site. Continue to pray...this is a long journey that finally has that light at the end of the tunnel.

Congratulations to you and your mom Ann! It will all turn out just fine and before you know it, you'll both be on the losers bench. I was nervous before my surgery, but I was so comforted by my having my family around and my doc. He was the best. He came into pre-op to see me and answer any questions me or my family had. He was (is) great.
It is good to have a bari buddy and a plus that it's your mom.

Hi Ann,
Hope you are feeling better today. I saw your website and thought I'd give you a shout. I was staying with my friend Leo who was in the room next to your room and across from your Mom's room. I got to talk with your husband, your mom, and your dad, but missed seeing you. I live in Henderson and am in the initial stages of getting ready to have gastric bypass surgery with Dr. Houston in Nashville. I can't wait. I know you are glad to have the wait and weight over and now be safely on the losing side. Good luck! Kathy
