When I went to Dr. Nighbert the first of December my Iron was low. I went back to my Family Doctor again in Mid January and it was still low they have told me to take 2 Iron Pills a day. I don'nt know if this is working I am still having Headaches, Can'nt Sleep, and I am very very tired and know my lower legs are starting to Ache. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Hi Mark, when you had your blood work done I am sure they checked for other deficiencies as well. I know this past winter when I had complications from plastic surgery..I got out of my regimen for taking meds and vitamins. when I do this I feel awful. I got back on track and feel much better. I do certain chewables, like iron and muliti vitamin.. I also take a B-12 (sublingual ) and a thiamin. (swallow) calcium (chewable) I was having tingling in my hands and feet with leg aches and often times headaches. since I take thiamin and B-12 a lot of those symptoms stopped. Also, are you RNY or lapband? perhaps switching to a chewable iron will help? Brenda

Well you could get your Iron the way I did. They found out as I was recovering that my iron level dropped through the floor. Maybe Dr. Nighbert might set you up an Iron IV IT took about 6-8 hours to drip in while I was in the hospital.

Hey Mark, They put me on Ferrous Fumerate, the brand I found is called Vitron-C I found it at Rite Aid. I take some chewable Vitamin C as well to help absorb the Iron. I was told the normal level is between 20 - 55. Mine was 15! I can tell a difference since taking it, I just had my labs done on the 20th and they haven't called me so I guess it's back up. Take care man,
