Yummy protein
hey guys,
I have been preparing for surgery (don't know when yet) and trying new proteins. There is a brand of all natural drink made by bolthouse farms (www.bolthouse.com) that has three kinds of protein drink. I bought it from wal-mart in the produce section. The flavor that I have tried is called Vanilla Chai Latte with soy protein. The bottle is 15 oz and has 19 grams of protein. I don't know how it stacks up to others on calories and fat though. It has 320 cal, 6g fat, 60% of calcium and 30% of iron. They also have a hazelnut and capuccino flavors. Their site has all the nutrition info, where to buy and recipes. They may not be the best to drink all the time but they make a yummy change in routine.
Hi Jessica,
Just wanted to say that I checked these out on the website you sent and under the nutritional info it's showing 21 g of sugar for the Vanilla Chai Tea, 30 g sugar for the Hazelnut Latte and 28 g of sugar for the Mocha Cappuccino. That's way too many for me to have according to my NUT. They look good though =)

Hey Tammy!
I don't mind at all.
1 decaf coffee tea bag (I think mine is folgers)
8 oz light soy milk (I use 8th continent, much less sugar or you could use your milk whatever)
1 packet of splenda
1 shot of khaluha sf davinci syrup
3/4 scoop of choc protien powder to equal 22 grams or use whatever you need to get around that much
ff rhedi whip (optional)
Microwave about 3 oz. of water until its boiling, dunk your coffee bag in it for about 30 seconds. (Add a few ice cubes) Then mix all of the ingredients together and pour it over ice and top it with a small squirt of the FF rhedi whip. Its really thin and goes down easily.
All of these ingredients can be found at Walmart. I hope you enjoy it.

sorry guys!!! I don't know too much about the sugar side of things yet. I have only gotten to talk to the nutritionalist once.I was really psyched about the protein and forgot about all the other stuff! I have only bought a couple of samples of protein and the recipes were on the bolthouse website, so I guess those are off limits. Although where I work we use Beneprotein and my patient say it doesn't taste too bad. You ca add that to sugar free pudding, soups, etc. Wow, what a picture that would have been if I'd have drank that after surgery, guess it wouldn't have been so yummy then!!
