Any comments, 3yrs post-op and I have gained 20-lbs. I have a great desire/taset for sweets. Any weight loss tips? I was 400, three years later I'm floating between 265--279.

Hey Bill! I would suggest just going back to basics. Concentrate on protein first, it fills us up and is supposed to help you not have any cravings. I wouldn't deprive myself, I can see having a hershey kiss or something as far as sweets just don't over do it. Also know your trigger foods; the ones that make you want to eat more. Try finding healthy snacks like string cheese, beef jerky, yougurt, etc. Last thing I would do is find a good weight for yourself one that you're happy with like for ex. 265 and stay within 5 lbs of that range. You know if you get out of those 5 lbs you need to tweak your routine a bit. I know you're 3 years post-op so I'm not telling you anything you don't know just reminding you lol. Katrina

I know this may sound gross to some of you, but it works. I used to fast for 30 plus days at a time before this surgery. My doctor said that it wasn't healthy for my heart. I could lose the weight but I put it and a lot of its friends back on each time. Anyway, mix 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in 8 oz. of water. The apple cider vinegar helps remove the sugar cravings. I really like vinegar on my cabbage and so the water tastes just like this to me. I like to drink it. I am only 2 and 1/2 months out of surgery. I am sticking to my program and I don't want anything to do with sweets of any kind. I know my addictive behavior and I know that to do so, would be disasterous for me. Good luck. RJ
