ready-to-drink protein shakes
i know this question has probably been asked a thousand times before, but can anyone suggest a good protein shake to drink that doesnt have sugar or a lot of fat or calories? I have tried the foil pack EAS AdvantEdge shakes and the Atkins shakes but all they do is make my stomach roll and give me a lot of gas. I'm missing out on a lot of my protein by not being able to drink these anymore

I would recommend the Slimfast Low carb shakes, but honestly, after I had my surgery I didn't like them AT ALL. Not the taste, nothing! So if you've tried EAS and Atkins and those didn't work, then Slimfast will probably not work either. But if you do try them, try the vanilla cream, not the chocolate! Most people I've spoken to that do the Slimfast thing hate the chocolate. Just my input though.
There's also a brand that I've tried from Walgreens. OPTISOURCE. I haven't ordered any, but I did try a sample from my Nutritionist's office, and it was delicious. 12 grams of protein per 4 ounces. They're only available online. Here's a link:

The only thing is, those are very expensive. $14.99 for a 6-pack, or $56.99 for a 24-pack. That works out to about $2.50 and $2.37 each. But hey, whatever works.

Hi Tiffany,
I use Body Fortress, from Wal Mart...Taste just like a chocolate malt especially if you add a few ice cubes to it to make it thick...Taste really good.....I have developed an intolerance to milk...this even taste good mixed with water...although I would use a hand shake mixer....
26 g per serving....

I went to www.baraticeating.com & ordered a sample pack. It was around $30 & that gave me a chance to try different ones. One of my favorites is PVL peanut butter & chocoalte. It has 22 g protein & 1 g sugar. I got mine through Georgetown. about $24 for a big tub.
