Hey Ya'll. I am interested in hearing from any of you who have had surgery in Nashville with the surgeons with Centennial Center for Weight Loss Surgery. I have been looking into the surgery in Evansville and in Nashville and was much more impressed with the group in Nashville than the Evansville group. I wondered if anyone has had experience with either of them and has any input. I think this is a big decision and one I am more than ready to undertake, just want to be sure I have the best team working with me.... Kathy

Howdy, wish I could be of more help but I have no idea about Nashville or Evansville. I went with Mark Shina up in Louisville. I know all of us when we're researching we have to go with who we feel like we can trust with our lives. Dr Shina and his staff will always have a special place in my heart and I hope u find a dr that u feel the same about. This surgery was a dream come true for me and I wish u the best with it no matter who u choose. Hugs and Best Wishes Angela R If I can ever be of help just email me or messenger me. Cynthia Dr. allen was going to assist since it was the first one done in Evansville, But Dr. Burry and DR. Haughn HAD done them before, just not at this hospital. Dr. Allen was not teaching them, but assisting them pre red tape requirments. Dr. burry did mine and He is WONDERFUL!!! It took 45 minutes and came home on NO pain meds!! I feel great. So I would 100% go to Evansville. Everyone was great and very good!!

Kathy, Centennial and Dr. Dyer were my first choice, but because of my insurance, had not kept up their payments with Dyer's office, I had to look elsewhere, or wait them out. whichever comes first.......Check out the Tennessee board..there are lots of Houston, Dyer and Olson patients on it. They have nothing but good things to say about all of them Good Luck Belinda

Kathy I had my Lap band done Feb 20th in Evansville by DR. Todd Burry. He is wonderful!!! It took 45 minutes and I came home on NO pain meds. BUT....everyone is different and everyone thinks their MD is wonderful. So it is entirely up to you who you feel comfortable with. I personally Love the Evansville team! I had surgery on Tues and went back to work the following Wed. But like I said everyone is different. Just research until you are ready. Sandi

Hi Kathy! I had RNY on 7/11/06 with Dr. Houston at Centennial. From my research, the "Center" is a one-stop before, during and after office with so many different programs in place to support you in every phase of your journey. I have no regrets whatsoever in having the surgery or my choice of surgeons. Dr. Houston is a very up front, honest person. And since my surgery, I have learned from another patient that his wife prays for each of his surgery patients each morning. How cool is that? At the Christmas party their office held for all their WLS patients in December, Dr. Houston was sharing my my dh and me that it's all about getting that second chance. I think that summed it up so well. To me, that said he wasn't judging me for wrong choices I'd made through the years, etc. He was simply acknowleding that we can all do better and deserve a second chance. I chose him for several reasons but after choosing him I was even more thrilled because of two big things and thos are 1) he doesn't do the leak test the following morning - he prefers to test you before he stitches you up and is 100% sure there's no leak before finishing; and 2) he doesn't insert a drain tube, which everyone says makes you miserable. My good friend is scheduled to have WLS w/him on 3/14. Feel free to email me with any questions. They're a great center and support system. Bonita
