My Surgical experience

For those of you interested, I posted a long blog about my surgical experience. I didn't sugar-coat anything...it is as it was. I am doing quite well, I think, its day 4 for me, and I am getting in plenty of protein and fluid, tolerating everything really good so far. Haven't weighed myself yet...lol...gonna try not to do that until my 2 week post op visit, so hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised. DH is frying chicken and I'm having a chocolate protein shake divided up in sippy medicine cups...lol... that's life from now on I guess...hehe.

I had a Lap Band (5/03 - 1/05), it eroded, perferated my stomach and was removed. I'm anxious to have the RNY. Just waiting on Anthem. Rayetta said we'll probably hear this week. I was Wheelers band pt., now am Tompkins RNY pt. I liked Wheeler, just thought the insurance co. might be quicker to approve a different Dr. Anyway, thanks for the email. Now I wasn't able to read the blog. Is it on your profile page? How do I find it? ???.....about the med. cups. The shake makes about 8 oz. and we are to sip no more than 2 oz in 15 min. It'll take approx. 1 hr. to get all protein in. I remember the dietician saying we need to get all the protein in within 30 minutes, anything more would be grazing? Is that for when we are on the soft foods? I think at stage 2 we need to sip liquids q 15 min to keep the pouch from drying out and to get 70mg of protein in. Is that the way you thought it was?

Hi there, I think your dietician was talking about when you start eating real food. Protein shakes are classified as liquids.. Katrina
