Looking for support
Well I am new here, I have done all the pych and nutrition classes. I have had 1 of the 4 group meetings. So I am waiting for insurance to approve and see what other things I have to do while waiting to have the surgery. I am so excited and can't wait to just get it done and be over on the loser's side. I am a single mom of 3 my oldest is 17 and pregnant and I know I gotta do something so I have the energy to really be there for my 1st grandbaby. Besides my 17 yr old daughter and my sister who lives like 2 hrs away from me, I really dont have a lot of support. So any information you can give me I will be thrilled to get. I have been lurking around for a couple weeks and seems like a great place for advice and information. Can't wait to get to know you all.

It's nice to meet you! I see on your profile that Dr. Sonnanstine is your surgeon....he's mine as well. I had surgery on November 27.....it's changed my life in so many wonderful ways. I remember how nervous, anxious, excited I was before surgery and just wanted to get it over with! Now here I am 3 months later and down about 95lbs. It's an amazing process.
I hope your insurance approval comes through quickly for you. And CONGRATS on the new grandbaby!

Hi Pam, and welcome! Email me or Im me anytime u want if I can be of help. I'll try to answer any questions u might have, try, lol. I'll be 2 yrs post op the end of this month. I had the open rny gastric bypass. I chose open. My surgeon Mark Shina, would have do it lap but I felt safer with the open. Looking back, I probably shoulda pick the lap lol. Hugs and best wishes!
