17 weeks Pregnant & 3 yrs post
Hey there everyone....how's it going??
Well, as you can see I've got some concerns about my pregnancy. Went the dr Tues and I have gained 10 lbs. And I'm freaking out about it. I dont' want to gain no more than 10 my entire pregnancy and that's still a high number. I've noticed that yes I've been eating more than normal. But in my defense everything that I'm eating is healthy. I don't know. I'm just really freaking out about gaining weight. Does anyone have any suggestions.
THANKS!!!
Missy
Hey Missy,
Congratulations on the pregnancy. I hope all goes well. As far as the 10 lbs I wouldn't be concerned that isn't a high number.
Here are the recommended weight gain guidelines for pregnant women:
If you are normal weight before pregnancy:
Gain 25 to 35 pounds during pregnancy.
If you are overweight before pregnancy:
Gain 15 to 25 pounds during pregnancy.
If you are underweight before pregnancy:
Gain 28 to 40 pounds during pregnancy (depending on your pre-pregnancy weight).
If you have a multiple pregnancy (twins, triplets or more): See your health care provider. You will need to gain more weight during pregnancy depending on the number of babies you are carrying.
I can understand why you're scared about gaining weight at 3 years post-op but with pregnancy a certain amount of weight gain is expected. For now I would focus on the health of the baby and then after he/she is born you can go back to focusing on losing the weight.. As long as you're eating healthy, you'll be fine.
Congratulations again! This is such an exciting time. Makes me miss being pregnant .. lol

Congrats on the baby! Don't freak out, u can lose the pregnancy weight after the baby. Sounds like Katrina gave u some pretty good guidelines. U will be fine.
I loved being pregnant but after my 1 and only child was born my hubby ran out and got fixed, the selfish butthead. Oh well. He says he's too old for babies. My stepson is 13 and our daughter is 5.
Best Wishes
Just be very carefull...My neice had rny about 3 years ago and she just had her baby 2 pounds. she went into a coma and may never walk right again ... Please take care of your self .. Haveing a baby after bariatric surgery is not recomended. Talk to your dr and do everything they tell you ,. We almost lost her and the baby .... she was bed redden for the whole time and still bout lost her life..
Wish you luck ....
