When does the pain in your left side start to subside and does it add more complication if you had a hernia repair at the time of your surgery?

Hello Tracey, I'm sorry about the pain you're in. I remember my left side pain too and it really sucked! The healing time shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks, if even that. You're only 3 days out and still have some of the surgery gas that was used during the process. Remember to keep walking, as this should help ease the pressure up off your left side. I know this doesn't help you much, but if you find the pain getting worse or unbearable, give your surgeon a call. Let us know how you're feeling and congratulations on your surgery-- Dee

Hi Tracey, Congrats on having your surgery! For me, the left side pain was pretty much gone by my two week visit to Dr. Tom. I didn't need the Percocet after around the 4th day after I got home. And even then it was mostly to sleep at night. But we're all different, so yours might be gone sooner, or last longer. But it does get better!! Take care! Chris
