Does anybody get that feeling that the food is stuck if you eat late at night. We cooked out last night and it was 9:00 PM I was eating elk steak and had only took about 2 bites and I started getting that feeling that I was choking. I am do not have that eating during the day but I think sometimes some of my problem is eating to fast it is so hard because everybody is eating lunch so fast it is almost that you are trying to keep up with them.

Hi Lisa, I had that happen one time to me when I was eating some chicken. I was eating a little to fast and not chewing enough and that combination is not a good one...trust me!!! Just remember you set your own pace eating and you have to chew the heck out of your food. When we eat with others we just let them do their thing and we do ours. Start up a conversation and that usually slows them down some to if you feel yourself tempted to eat to fast to keep up with them. Hope this helps you some. God Bless Michael D

I think it may because the meat is grainy. I have found this has happened to me. I like Prime Rib because the meat meat is not as grainy and tough and easier to digest. Although I understand some people might think it is expensive but for one we do not eat a lot and plus I will gladly pay a little more to be smaller and not get sick.

I agree with Mark and Mike. With Mark, because since my surgery, I've not been able to eat hamburger; although if it's ground up steak or something with less fat and grit, I can eat that. I find the softer meats are easier to go down and digest without giving me grief. I agree with Mike because, while I've never had food actually get stuck and me have to throw it back up, if I don't chew, chew, chew, I do get very, very nauseas. I don't know if the time of day plays a factor or not. I've never had elk meat before is that anything like dear? Good luck to you-- Dee
