Has anyone used bc/bs federal employee program? If so what was your experience with them? I have a consult with my doctor and I have bc/bs and I was just wanting to get some feedback on them. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks linda

Federal employee BC/BS is wonderful! Quick approval, sometimes even the same day. I have been approximently $250 out-of-pocket...for example, my bill from just from the surgery alone was a little over $23,000.oo and my part was a big whoopping $100.oo. I don't think I could be happier with my insurance company...it's what keeps me hanging on to my government job...LOL...Hope this helps...

Hi Linda, I have BC/BS FEP and have had very little problem with them. They approved my surgery quickly and have covered all but one bill. (That bill was for when I had an IVC filter put in and insurance, for some reason, doesn't want to cover the doctor's fee. I've called insurance and the doc's office, had the doc's office re-submit the claim with a different dx code....but it still isn't covered. ) I called BC/BS before I went for my consult just to see if they covered the surgery, if my surgeon was a preferred provider, what they would need to approve the surgery, etc. I'd suggest calling the customer service # and talking to them about it.
