Now that it seems like my stricture is taken care of, and can try to eat again, safely. What are some good suggestions to try out? maybe with a high amount of protein involved. I've been eating soups and jellos so long I forgot what food is....

Hey Buddha! Glad you're doing better! It would depend on what stage food you're up to as to what you can eat. Have you gone back to take a look at the white binder that gives the food stages to get some ideas? I referred to that a lot as I progressed through the stages to get an idea of things to eat that are high in protein. Take care, Chris

Hey Ryan, I'm not sure if your into cottage cheese, but it's chalk full of protein (Wal Mart's brand--low fat--has 14g of protein per 1/2 cup serving) and quite hearty. I take 1/2 cup of it with 1/2 cup of some fresh fruit (preferably with strawberries or some melon) and call it lunch! Mike's favorite thing is to take 4 slices of deli ham and a slice of light American cheese. Take 2 of the deli slices, 1/2 slice of the cheese and roll them up together. He likes mustard, so he'll add that to hold it together. It's pretty good! If you would like any other suggestions, please let me know and I'll send you some more suggestions. Good luck and glad to read you're feeling better. Dee

I enjoyed Wendy's chili with a little bit of cheese. I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I could eat that. I also eat lots of tuna with a little bit of low fat mayo, relish and cheddar cheese. I eat that almost every day. Tuna is full of protein (the pouches taste the best). Hormel turkey chili (98% fat free) is good. Cottage cheese Egg Beaters....dice up some ham or turkey with a little bit of cheese and salsa....Yummy Those are the things I eat the most of. Protein first....another tip: go to www.fitday.com and record what you eat. You can then see if you are getting the protein you need and if you are eating too many carbs, fat, calories. It is really a good tool. Good luck!!

Dr. Sonnastine's nutritionist actually mentioned Wendy's chili. (She was talking about putting it in a blender though!) Still might taste pretty good! Melanie g.

Blendered Wendy's chili is GROSS!!! just chew it well... Try some steamed squash, I found it to be wonderful and so easy to eat. Grilled salmon is easy to handle and easier to cook. Olive Garden has great soups, so does Subway.
