I have a good friend who had gbs in August, and has lost over 100 lbs I may add....yipee. We had Pizza with our kids at Christmas, she had one piece, so I guess it just depends on the person. Missy

I've had a piece of pizza a couple of times since surgery. Normally I won't eat the crust, as I enjoy just the toppings much more now, but a couple of times I have went for the whole deal.

I'm 17mths out and I can eat pizza. But one piece is about it. I usually pick the topping off and have a small side salad. Pizza isn't the same, thank goodness. It use to be all about how great it was and before I knew it I could eat a whole pizza by myself. So yes you can but your new mind lets you know its not the best choice. Good luck Jane

My hubby was a pizza freak before surgery and he still is after! We don't eat store bought or restaruant pizza, but I have bought the thin already made crust (in the deli section) sauce, and toppings to make at home. We can only eat one slice a piece, which is fine with him, because he can have it again for lunch the next day. The only thing is, we are only (going on) 6 and 7 months out and do not indulge in that treat, but once every blue moon. (Infact, we've only done it once since surgery and that was a little over a month ago) You can add things back into your diet after a certain period of time. We are just now getting to where we can add back some whole grains into our diet, but we only do it maybe 1x's a week, 2 at most. You'll find that doing it at home is sometimes better (mostly--really) than doing it out. Delivery is greasy and not so good for you. At home, you can make a tasty pizza that can actually have some good nutrients and be less fattening. (as well as less hard on your new system) Good luck to you-- Dee

I am almost 9 months out from surgery and just recently I could handle a very, very small slice of Godfather's Pizza- specifically, their Thin crust Taco Pizza with no lettuce. I still have issues with lettuce. Thankfully, other veggies do just fine! Also, need to point out... my system *cough* 'cleanses' itself the following evening after I have this. Its probably the only food I eat with a high fat content, so I'm certain that is the cause. So be careful! I have eaten pizza only twice though in the last thirty days. ITs definately not going to be a staple in my diet like it used to.

I am 7 months out and still don't handle any bread well at all. I had pizza tonight at Pizza hut but just ate the toppings off one slice.
