I know we all think our surgeons are the greatest and that is as it should be. I know that Dr Shina and his staff will always have a special place in my heart. After being so over weight all my life, having no idea what it would even be like to be thin and then to have this chance, well, there are no words that could ever express how special Dr Shina, Holly, Anna, Sandy, Glenna, all of them, are too me. The picture used to be on my old profile as my after and when my after changed last fall this one was taken off. It was taken at my 1 yr check up last March 06. Its of Dr Shina of course, his lovely wife Holly and myself. They are just wonderful people and always have treated me like family. I get to see them again April 18 for my 2 yr check up. Can't wait. Its always a pleasure to go see Dr Shina and Holly! They're just the bestest to me!

Angela, I know what you mean about having a special place in your heart for your surgeon. I know that I do (and Mike) for mine. The entire care that I've (and Mike) received at St. Joes is impecable and the positive changes in my life are, well, humbling. I imagine that all of our surgeons are held in high regard by most of us and for good reason. I'm glad that you share with us the changes that happen in your life as reflected by the WLS. It inspires me and I'm sure those who lurk, because they may be curious about the surgery. Congratulations on your 2yr post-op! And keep up the good work! You look fabulous! Take care-- Dee

Humble is the right word. U've hit it there. It humbles me how incredible this has been. All of our surgeons are special because without them and this tool, where would we be?
