Did anyone gain any weight before the surgery. I have gained 2lbs but have really been dieting and exercising. I know my doctor won't be happy. I don't want this to effect him doing the surgery. Tracie

I hate to admitt it but I had the same problem. I think some of it was the idea that I would not have all the yummy food I wanted. To be honest. I am now 5 weeks out post op and I dont miss a thing. I quit smoking and drinking and I dont even miss ice cream or chocolate. Just be ready for a wonderful new change in your life once you have surgery. Good luck.

Thanks Donna, least I know I'm not the only one. My doctor is Dr. Nighbert, and I'm so afraid he's gonna say "nope can't do the surgery cuz you've gained" I know it sounds silly but that's what I keep thinking. I think I'm just anxious and so afraid that something is going to stop me. Tracie

I have gained a couple lbs even with diet and some exercise. During all this time I have been trying to quit smoking. I am taking Chantix to help me quit smoking but all it has done so far was helped me to cut down.

A pound or two isn't going to make a large difference. Now Dr Tom says if you put on 10+ lbs then there could be a problem. Some people go through the last supper syndrome and eat everything they can in the weeks before surgery. Try upping your fluids and see if that won't fill you more and also help with flushing your system.
