I got my referral in today

I got my referral in today its for Dr. William M Steely MD In clarksville TN so I called to Make an APPT. thye said I have to go to his next seminare before I get an appt.with him and his next seninare is not until may 21st .is this normal? I am feeling so impatient .I know its not that far But I am definatly one of those people who wants to get it over with yesterday the longer I wait the more nervous I get Myanxiety level goes though the roof . I also have gallstones acting up and was hoping to get both procedures done at the same time I dont want to go through two surgeries and recoveries Ok I realize im rambling sorry

Hi Pam, I'm not familiar with Dr. Steely or his program but I just wanted to say congrats on getting one step closer. I know you want it all to happen right now....believe me, I know...but going through the motions of the program you choose is part of the process. It'll all start happening for you soon and before you know it...you'll be here on the loser's bench! Take care, Chris

I have heard before that some WLS surgeons only do seminars once a month or so. What part of KY are you in? There are several surgeons all over KY.

Oh, ok. So u are really close to TN. If you dont have your heart set on ur surgeon you could always post on here asking about surgeons close to u. Maybe u could get in quicker and with a surgeon one of us might know??? Just a thought is all. I know waiting really suckssssss. lol

Hey Pam, Yeah, I've heard of surgery centers only doing the seminars once a month. If you think about it, it's a big thing for them. (I feel) I mean the Dr.'s are there to answer questions and these seminars are usually held after business hours. I know for the center I went too, the Dr.'s were at the end of the seminar, ready to answer any and all questions, and stayed until the last person walked out of the room. Our 2 hour seminar turned into a 31/2 hour seminar! Never once did I see the first surgeon looking at his watch like they're being held up. (an important thing in my book--made quite the impression) My point is, when you think about how long and in depth these seminars are, I can see why some of them would only have them once a month. Anyhoot-- It's all going to be here and gone before you know it. I remember it seemed like forever to get the surgery. Now, it's been almost 7 months ago. Hard to believe. Good luck to you hon-- Dee
