I thought I would give this a look see. I was banded by the late great Dr. Sanchez, may he rest in peace and have the greatest fill doc in the world, Dr. Trace Curry. I was banded 7/10/06 and weighed 272 and am 5'7" and have the 9.75cm, mini, lowprofile port that hold's 4cc's. I had a fill a week ago and am up to 3cc's and am really restricted. Here''s my problem. The first 5 months I lost 60 pounds and the weight just fell off, now 2 months later I haven't lost a pound. I am eating the same, exercising the same and doing everything the same. I might add though, I'm under stremendous stress. More stress than I've ever been in in my entire life. Could this be hampering my stall. Any help from anyone that stalled at 8 months. I still need to loose 50 pounds and I'm worried at this rate I'll never ever get there. Thanks for all of your help in advance. Sherri

Hi Sherry Welcome to our little world. I am almost 5 months out from Lap Band. I have had some nasty stalls also. I would really suggest that you try the Lap Band forum. There are alot of people out there that can offer you some really good advice. Dr. Curry also has an "Ask the Doctor" section. You can pose a question to him and he will answer. It is pretty cool. Check it out

I just wanted to say welcome to the boards Sherri! I don't know much about lap-banding, even though it was the WLS I was originally opting for. I have heard that stress in effect can cause fluctuations in our weight. Keep going like you are and I'm sure your body will resume it's weight loss. Even though we've had 2 completely different procedures, I too had a 2.5 month stall and I was certain the weight loss was over for me. My problem too was stress. I had to have another (not WLS related) surgery and to make matters worse, there was a complication from it. It was during this healing/suffering time I had my stall. It can happen, but hang in there. I hope you're having a good day, and again, welcome to the boards! Take care-- Dee
