I have seen some post on here asking about vitamins. I do some consulting work for Bariatric Advantage, if you have questions or want to order and have no idea how to do that..send me a note or a direct email and I hopefully can help you out with that. [email protected] Brenda

Brenda: Thanks for the opportunity to contact you regarding the Bariatric Advantage vitamins. I tried the samples and they were the best tasting that I have had. Could you tell me what are the advantages of taking these vitamins in lieu of the Centrum Chewables that I am currently taking? Other than the obvious that they simply taste better, what other benefits are there? I had opted to stay on the Centrum until my 6 mo visit with Dr. Tom, just because that is the vitamin I have been taking since the beginning and I thought that would help him to analyze my bloodwork better and be able to tell if I am truly malabsorbing the vitamin or if the vitamin just isn't right for me. Perhaps that is just a myth I have developed in my own mind. Thanks again for the opportunity to inquire.

Hi Cathy, well I can give you some info here- there is so much to know about the bariatrics and vitamins. I personally like the vitamins for a couple of reasons. I know they have no lactose and no sugar., they are free of things like chemical dyes, vegetable oils, waxes, talc and starch..and are made in an FDA approved lab.. I also like it because I have contact with Dr. Jacques who is the chief science officer with Catalina Life Sciences who is also part of Bariatric Advantage..her job is to study vitamin deficiencies and keep up with the trend of those of us further out, where the deficiencies are being seen. ( I have a thiamin definciency-found at about 3 yrs out) I can't really compare with other specific vitamins because I am not the expert, but I have read that some do not have the ingredient or the amount that we need of things like selenium ..( this is documented..I will get the info if requested) it takes a great deal of reading and studying to figure this whole thing out..I can get you specific information if you need it.. That is done for me with this company. Also, let me make this clear to anyone reading..You must follow your doctor and dietician's directions as you are going through the process. Especially if you are within the first few months. I am not involved with the programs in that aspect, especially at Dr. Sonnanstine's office as I have not personally gone through his program, but do know him personally..in other words I don't know at what point he has you taking a particular supplement. My suggestion would be to email Taryn and ask if she is ok with you using the products, then contact me so I can help you with ordering, etc. I will do what I can to help you..and get the information you need. if you would like to read and study more.. go to www.bariatricadvantage.com or email me direct and I can help you through it. Thanks Brenda

Brenda: Thanks for the information. I will go to the site you listed tonight and study it some more. Truly any information that you can give me is most appreciated. I just want to make sure that I am giving my body everything that it needs, especially since we do malabsorb now. Thanks again! Kathy
