What has been everyone's experience w/ insurance & this group? Are they trully out-of-network w/ Humana & other insurances? For those who have had wls w/ them RECENTLY, how much did you have to pay for surgeon's fees? I really like this Dr. but I'm wondering if I need to switch surgeons in order to be able to afford this procedure... I've already been approved by Humana. PLEASE HELP!!!

I can't help you with your insurance questions. I had two different health insurances, BCBS and Tricare but neither would pay ro the lapband. But as for Dr. Lusco and the girls at Caritas.......they are the BEST!!! I was banded 9-05 and like Debbie said, my only regret was not doing it sooner. I read your list of why you wanted to lose weight and I said "YES" to all of them and "done that" to many. Seemed like I paid Dr. Cutie Pie $6000 up front. That covered everything for a year. Then $50 for an office call, or $75 if I needed a fill. I went in a couple of weeks ago for a fill and they told me that now there have a new policy that 2nd yearers get 2 visits a year free. YAY.... Hope you will be able to stick with Dr. Lusco....

ANuChance; I came across your post and I am in network. There are no upfront fees from the surgical office. The bariatric center does have a one time fee of upto $250 which covers the nutritionist and bariatric mental health eval. After that, everything is billed to your insurance and you are just responsible for copays and deductables which is the same as seeing any other doctor. We have never had anything like the huge fees charged at other programs.
