Help ME Please!

Hi, This is my very first time to visit this site. I am like a fish out of water. I am wanting lapband surgery so badly & ASAP. I do not know anything about which direction to turn. I live in Easter Ky. I have Medicare. I am qualified for surgery. ANY information willbe GREATLY appreciated.

Hi Kathy, I will try to give you some information about this. With Medicare you have to find a hospital that is a Center of Excellence. I would say based upon your location you should probably start looking in Lexington. I think Georgetown is a Center of Excellence but I'm not entirely sure if they take Medicare. I can say for sure that Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland KY http://www.yourhealthylife.org/index.aspx and Cabell Huntington Hospital in WV http://yourobesitycare.com/ are both COE. Once you find a surgeon you will need a referral from your family doctor. From there your Surgeon's office will take care of everything else. I hope this helps! Katrina

Hi Kathy...just wanted to say hello to another newbie! I am Medicare/medicaid and in the beginnig stages too. I have researched this for three years last week and finally have been to the seminar and turned in all my paperwork they requested. I am in Indiana, but would be glad to help if I can!
