THANKS!!! So much for the advice. I know things are going to get better and matter of fact they are getting better already. Am I sticking like glue to the diet? NO. But close. I am trying to get in all my water....I found a good protein shake. It's just takes some adjusting but I am down 22 lbs as of this morning. It is worth it. I am looking for a good support group if anyone knows of one? Sarah

Just hang in there. It really does get better. For the most part I eat regular food, just in smaller portions. I don't eat any sweets at all after having one dumping fit with ice cream (OMG thought I would die) Hot tea was the ticket for me. I could not get in the liquids and Taryn suggested trying warm (not overly hot) water. Plain warm water... it was comforting to my pouch. I continued this and added green teas. I can drink far more warm beverage than I can cold. I am sick right now, so I am having my own pity party. Been on liquids since last Weds and meds. grrrr kinda mean and grouchy but I hope to start eating again on Thursday. Upside? I lost another 11 lbs bringing me to 156 lbs in 8.5 months! Gotta love it!

WooHoo Sherryl the weightloss continues. Even if you had to resort to being sick as long as you don't gain it back.

Yes the loss continues....but going back to stage 1 bites big time! Tomorrow I can start eating soft foods again.WEEEEE!!! Isn't it funny how food can control our thoughts to such a degree? I need another "habit" to replace food thoughts. I did drop another 2 lb yesterday so I am at 159 loss! I am hoping to at least under 200 before my 1 yr post op in August - 12 lbs to go.

Sarah, I promise you this does get better and everything you're feeling is normal. The bad breath is because your body is in ketosis, here's more bad news, you'll have a body odor as well, and more bad news, you're hair will probably start falling out. NOW, all of these things you should have already known about before having surgery. All these things usually happen to all of us. You're frustrated because you can't eat, you're worried about getting in all the protein and water....You will not be able to all your protein and water in at first...this is normal. I went back to work after 2-3 weeks, I felt much better but still not normal. I don't think I started feeling normal until I was about 8month maybe even a year after surgery. You will learn how to eat again, you'll learn what you can eat and what you need to avoid. Lots of hugs, again I do promise you will feel better and you'll then know it was all worth it. Lisa
