Good morning, Kentucky Board! Just thought I'd say Hi and throw out a question for everyone, if you want to play along. What is one thing you can do since surgery that you couldn't do before surgery? If you're pre-op, then what is something you look forward to doing after surgery that you can't do now? For me....it's being able to walk as long as I want. I was barely able to walk before surgery and now I'm a walking fool! And because of it....I'm becoming a shopaholic! I'm happy.....but my credit card isn't.....

Things I can do now that I couldn't before? 1. Ride a bike (not only ride a bike because my belly isn't being slammed by my knees, but I can ride it for 30-45 at the gym and still be able stand up and walk without fainting) 2. Walk - I was in a wheel chair for anything other than around the house. 3. No meds - not taking 12 meds that were required before! 4. close your eyes Kat... .... SEX - LOVE IT! 5. Shop in a regular store - I still hate to shop, but coming around 6. Walk up the stairs with both legs. I used to have to go one step at a time, now I just walk up them I am sure that I could go on and on but these were the first few things that came to mind.

Hi Sherryl! Congrats on #4 ! And I'm right there with ya on the stairs!! I used to avoid them at all cost because I had to go one step at a time whether I was going up or down. Now they don't bother me at all. Well....as long as it's just one flight!

One thing I couldn't (or maybe wouldn't?) do before? Smile at guys. Coworkers, store employees, the guy in the next car over. I did that whole staring down or looking away, avoiding eye contact thing. Now, it's a lot better. Even nicer when I get smiled back at!

I'm with you on that one, Kat. I never had the confidence in myself to look at ANYONE let alone a guy I thought was cute. All that is starting to change now.....

Hi Donna, LOL.....Congrats on your legs not rubbing together! I can't wait for that to happen! And good for you for being such an inspiration to the 13 year old girl. That's great that she wants to be involved in sports. I wasn't too far from weighing that at her age but I avoided all sports because of how others taunted and teased me.

I love being able to cross my legs again. I find myself doing it all the time. I can walk up 3 flights of stairs then I start getting winded. I played ball in the back yard with my 6 year old daughter without getting tired after 2 sec. My daughter said mom you ran without getting bizzy. (She says bizzy instead of dizzy) She mixes up her b's and d's. I want to go to exercise class. Because I feel better the next day. Oh, and the sex is much enjoyable again. Who knew?
