transected or not?

Does anyone know if Bolar transected his patients or just did multiple rows of staples? I have my surgery report, but can't figure out what any of it means...and neither could my RN neighbor, lol. I had my surgery done in 2002, so I'm pretty sure there's been some "advancements" or changes surgeons are doing on newer patients...I only lost 100 lbs to begin with (needed to lose like 160), and always felt like I was able to eat way more from the time I was 2-3 months out. I'm having an upper GI tomorrow to rule out any mechanical errors w/ the pouch, but was just wondering if any of you actually knew how he did the surgery..lol. It's sad that I had it, and have no clue if I was proximal or distal, or if I was transected or not =/

im a Bolar patient and i am proximal and all i can say is that when i went to see another gastric bypass doc, he said bolar did one heck of a job on me and that i might as well get use to the fact of having complications...............i have no faith in him,he did my surgery in oct 05 and new at that time he was leaving town. But waited to tell me when i was having complications and he said follow me to Tenn or find a new doc.....and finding a new doc was hard. Call Dr Steely in Tenn they will tell you what Bolar did to you..........i think thats his name lol. But itd unger gateway bariatrics....................vickie

Thanks for responding to both of my posts, lol...as you can probably tell I'm a bit frustrated with my surgery at this point, and am fed up with having the horrible "attacks" I've been having pretty much on a daily basis. I have no idea what it is, and probably never reallly will...Bolar already repaired adhesions/obstructions last year when I had my gallbladder out, but there's def. something not right in my upper-left tummy area I tried to get my records from his new office the other day, and the woman who answered wasn't very nice...she said I had to send them $5 first, and ONLY through snailmail. I was really sick at that time and I thought it was kind of low to make a person wait 5-6 days to get their records when they needed them. My pcp gave me some medicine for stomach spasms that has seemed to help, but I'm not even sure if that's what my problem is or if it's even okay to take those meds for an extended period of time. Hopefully I'll find out what's going on tomorrow after the upper gi =/
