Had Heart Cath Today - Nothing Found!!!
Finally, some good news! Had my heart cath done this morning and everything is fine! My cardiologist is sending letter to Dr. Allen clearing me for the surgery!!
Saw my PCP yesterday and she insists that I have the surgery and will send medical letter for clearance.
It seems the diabetes is now affecting my organs and I have to get this weight off.
My PCP and I discussed how the surgery is not a "fix" but an aid in the weight loss
and how anyone has to follow the doctors orders and make life changes.
So, I will be calling next week to see if Dr. Allen's office now has all the paper work needed to get me scheduled before I start nursing school 8/20.
Blessings to all.
I am going to Jefferson Community Technical School - I got accepted into the LPN Prgram which starts 8/20 and I have orientation on 6/19. I am so excited! They only accept 30 students and I got chosen on the first application! I am 54 and went to school this Spring semester and took three of the classes required in the LPN Program and ended up with all A's for my final grade! And I think I have mentioned before, I have two sons ages 6 & 8 (are my adopted sons which I have had since the age of 5 months & 2 years). My beloved brother lives with me and helps me with the boys and I don't know what I would do without him. He has enabled me to be able to go to school.
I'm not as sore today in my groin area but have to take it easy. An interesting note to the heart cath, I have had two previous ones and they were not painful, the one yesterday was VERY painful and they told me that due to my weight and having the extra fat to go through is what made this one so painful! Curse you fat!!!!
Now I can't wait to get a date for the surgery and my PCP still insists for me to have the gastric bypass and not the lapband. She has been very strong about which type of surgery from the beginning of this journey. She feels like with the problems the diabetes is now causing, that I have to get the weight off as quickly as I can. I had
lost 5 pounds at her office!! Must be all the yard work I have been doing.
Blessings to all.
I was just wondering as to how they told you that the extra pain was caused by the layer of fat. (How did they word this so it did not sound judgemental or rude?)
On another note, I went to LPN school also, back in the early 90's. In the mid 90's I went on for my RN in a LPN to RN program (those programs are GREAT!) You can message me if you want to chat about it! Especially once you get started! THEN the fun begins! LOL! My LPN school seemed like a high school setting; we were all together in one big class, it lasted all day. I don't know if they still do it like that.
Anyway, we are pulling for you to get a surgery date soon. You will be a TOTALLY new person in 2 years! A slender healthy nurse!

I am so happy that something good has came out for you. You will have your date soon. Just let me know when. This time next year you will look so different. Don't be surprise if the drs office says they need the paper are some of the paper work again. They have it believe me, but just keep after them. Let me know your date.
