What Do You Do When Phone Calls Aren't Returned????

I have left messages since Monday to the contact person at my surgeons office to find out if all the paper work, ie reports, clearance letters, etc have been received.

This is Thursday and still no call back.  I am really getting upset.  I know they are busy, but I am just trying to find out if I need to make sure if all paperwork is in or not (and have left this in my messages that is what I am trying to find out).  All of my specialists have advised me they have faxed the test results and clearance letters, but I have to make sure as the contact person has told me before she did not receive papers that the dr and I both faxed to her.

I met this "contact" person the last visit at the surgeons office and did not care for her at all.  She was very snippy.

Any suggestions as to what I do now?  Do I call and ask for her suvervisor and report what is happening?  This is really frustrating!

I would suggest when you call ask for the clinical coordinator.  If you don't get a call back from her or they don't put you through.  I suppose I would question the center I chose...Since I don't know who your surgeon is I am not sure of their procedure.  Often times however, they simply don't have the answer you are looking for at  that time..and will call you when they do.  or perhaps they are looking for the answer before they call you back.  I always at least give the benefit of the doubt, unless this is something they seem to do quite frequently.

Cynthia, I had to end up calling and speaking to a supervisor today.  I explained what was going on and she was very concerned.  She is a new supervisor and was unaware there was a problem like this.  She pulled my file personally and called me back to tell me they do not have the cardiac and pulmonary clearance letters yet.  That is all they are lacking and have received everything else.  She told me to have those faxed to her personally and gave me her direct number.  I explained to her I am starting nursing school August 20th and she stated it was imperative then that they get the surgery scheduled before then.  She was so great and helpful.  I told her I have a feeling I am not the only one being treated this way and that there always seems to be a lot of confusion in the office about things.  I am just persistent enough to keep on pushing until I get an answer.  I will keep you updated.
