Its almost here.......
I think I'm ready. I have just about something scheduled for every day up to the surgery. I hope I don't forget something. I'm sorting my clothing out into piles of large, x-large and xx-large. So as I loose I can at least have a few things to wear.
Am I the only one who cannot see themselves weighng 100 lbs less? I have a hard time visualizing my body at that weight.. I'm starting out at 276 the day of approval in April, I'm 256 now and my goal is 156. Exactly 100 lbs.! What happens if the morning of surgery you weigh less than 100 lbs. over the goal weight? Just curious. Also, another concern is I have really bad arthritis. I've stopped my arthritis meds according to the surgeon a week ago and I can hardly walk now. I get up and down like I'm 200 years old. I hope I can walk after surgery. Its painful but the worse part is it makes your joints feel weak. Other than that I am so ready. Anyone else out there having surgery on the 15th at Suburban Hospital, Louisville, KY? Hugs, Annie
DOnt worry about being less than the 100 lb. mark.....(i was just under day of surgery) and it was fine just less you have to lose after surgery!!!
GOOD LUCK!! and hope you have a great journey!!!
(MIght want to ask about an alternate med for you arthritis to get you thru , and the more weight that comes off the easier it will be on your joints!!!)
GOOD LUCK again and best wishes & speedy recovery to you!!!
Thanks all of you. This site has been my biggest support.
I am going to have to get with Dr. Shina and find some type of alternative arthritis help. More than keeping myself moving and hot showers. This walking like a 200 year old woman isn't cutting it. Very unsexy!! I don't mind enduring it if the eventual weight loss will make it better but until then I'm feeling very old.
Thanks all for the responses.

I had to stop my meds as well. As the weight comes off you will not need it as much. I am down 157 lbs since 8/06 and only take an occasional tylenol for artho now.
Keep moving as much as possible..
Thanks that is great to know. I was wondering if I was going to be using a walker after surgery.
Did you have knee arthritis mainly? I move all the time I think that is part of the joint damage. I work in the state prison with felons. I'm always moving here and there. Once I go home in the evening I seem to lock up though. Horrible joint weakness.
Thanks for the reply.
