I have 9 days till my gastric bypass surgery
Hi Darlene,
I wish you all the best on your upcoming surgery. It seems like only yesterday I was in the same spot you're in.
Like Tony said, each surgeon/hospital is different and have different policies.....but the only tests I had to have the morning of surgery were blood pressure and temperature. No bloodwork or anything. They did all that at the pre-admission testing. I did have to answer a bunch of questions that morning of surgery that I had to answer at my history and physical with the surgeon and also at the pre-admission testing. It got to be monotonous answering all those questions....but it's a small price to pay to make sure nothing is overlooked and everything is good to go for surgery.
Take care....and keep us posted on your progress!

I remember the jitters that I had right before surgery. I know that you will do fine. My doc did some last minute blood work and then I was off to surgery. Fear ddin't set in for me until right before surgery but when I woke up I had to ask if they had done it already. Please remember that surgery is only the beginning of a whole new and different life. God Bless and let me know how you are doing.
