Hello All, I was born and raised at Union Chapel close to Jamestown but have lived in TN for the last 45 years.   I still go home every so often where my heart still is as I affectionately call HOME. Just wondering if anyone on here is from Home.

Miranda Hello, You know I've heard of Nancy all my life but not sure where it is. My family are Loy's and Antle's mothers side and dad was from Columbia Coomer's and Wilson's. I try to come home once a year, most of my family I knew growing up are passed on or living other places.  But I am a Hopeless sentimental who lives in the past.  I may live in Tennessee but Home is where the heart is and thats Kentucky. You know I do believe my uncle Huston (deceased and my aunt Nadine lived in Nancy (not sure). Well anyway nice to talk to some one from home.

I don't know any of these people but I have seen their name numerous times when I was doing my family history.  There names were in the census records way back as far as 1850. Ask him if his parents remembers Dr. Lawrence, who had the three story barn and big house going into Jamestown.  Whew was he rough and could have used WLS.

Hi there!  I'm not FROM there but I lived there for a few years. I attended Union Chapel Elementary for my 5th and 6th grades. We were down that way last weekend ourselves for a visit to the area. We always have a good time when we head that way!

I did to but in those days it was a one room school and the roads were dirt. If you left Union Chapel UN Methodist and headed to Jamestown, My Granddad house was the two story house on the left before you got to the main road.  Uncle Rudolf Loy lived on the last house on  the right.  All that land between was Loy land My Great, Great, Great Granddad bought for a Kentucky Rifle. Almost forgot Grandad had a sawmill back of the house 50's-60's

I am actually kin to some Coomer's and Wilson's.  One of  Granny's sisters married a coomer.  Her name is Bernice Coomer and her husband is Raymond Coomer.  Remember back about 11 years ago, the Coomer boy (Matt Coomer) who was murdered, well that was my cousin.   And my Granny's other sister married a Wilson.  Their names are Dewell and Jean Wilson.   Miranda

I don't know any of the Coomers they were Dad's moms people and had passed away years before i was born. They are all buried along the Wilson at the Antioch United Methodist Chur*****olumbia.  My Great, Great, Great Grandparents on Moms side are buried in the Loy Helms Cem. down on the old home place.  My Grandmother's side is buried at the Dixon Cem. at Union Chapel.  My Great Granddad was a Senator he is buried in Jamestown (Robert Antle).

Believe it or not I went to school at Union Chapel in a one room school and I'm only 57. Link to all my Home Pictures:   http://maranathabm.org/wisonphotos/main.php?g2_view=core.Sho wItem&g2_itemId=107

If you were at the intersection of 127 and the road that Union Chapel School was on, and took a right I lived right there on the corner of Clifty Creek Road and 127. And I can not imagine being in a 1 room school house, however, Union Chapel IS the only school I know of that had the gym and the cafeteria all in the same big room!
