I copied this from a email I sent out to friends and family earlier about my husband Adams aunt finding out she has rectal cancer today. Appreciate any and all prayers. Rosie is Pop's(my father in law) older sister. She is just the sweetest little woman. She's always been special to us because her and pop are so close. She's a tough little lady too. Mom, she reminds me of Aunt Pid. Well, last weekend they noticed she was losing blood thru her bowels I think. She went to her dr Monday, she's been in the hospital since. (for those of u in Hoptown if u don't know the room # call me, but I think Jo said she might be going home tomorrow) Today they ran a scope. She has rectal cancer. They say its a big mass. They're going to try 6 weeks of chemo, then if she's able to take the chemo, surgery. She had breast cancer a few yrs ago and has only one breast left from that. They took it off. Said the cancer was gone and she had been on a pill since. They're putting in a porta cath tomorrow or Monday. I'm not exactly sure what the medical wording of this is mom, but I'll try to explain to the best of my knowledge. A porta cath is sort of like a permanant IV but its not really permanant. I assume after the chemo, surgery it can be removed. My friend with MS has one cause she takes chemo for her MS. If I'm wrong on the porta cath someone correct me, I don't really know what it is. I do know that Pop and Rosie are very close. He loves his other sister and brother but Rosie is his rock. It****ting pretty hard tonight. Allison asked me while ago after she heard me telling Adam (I didn't know she was listening) I was telling him what Jo told me they found out and Allison said "mommy, is Aunt Rosie going to die?" What do u say? Jo had me ask Adam to tell Pop cause Scooter was pretty upset anyway and he should be, Rosie's his mom but he told Jo that he knew Pop would cry and he didn't think he could handle that tonight. Adams over at pops now. They've called Rosie and she is in good spirits, picking and playing. She told pop if she lost all her hair she'd look like him. She said she guessed she'd have to buy a wig. Just remember her in your prayers, that she'll have the strength to take the chemo and it'll shrink enough that they can remove it. My aunts father in law (my papaw in my heart) had rectal cancer. He died in 1996. He couldn't take the chemo. He lived 18 months after finding out. I don't want that for Rosie. It was so hard. He suffered so much. I know God can touch her and heal her if thats His Will. He is the great Physician. If u have time please remember Rosie in your prayers. Its not going to be a easy road for her. Thanks Adam and Ange
