frustrated!

I did my 6 months of weigh ins, and sent in all my info to the bariatric center. Today I get a lett saying I need 6 months of weight ins and a skleep study. WHAT!? This is going to put me back at least anotehr 6 months, and probably more. It will be 2008 before I can have surgery, I was expecting it late this year. This is never going to happen for me. I am stuck like this the rest of my life. And thats going to be short.

This really isn't going to set you back 6 months. If you've done all your 6 month weigh in's just send them in. As far as a sleep study (unless your doctor is super busy) you should be able to get one in a month or so and the results don't even take that long, either. I would call all of the local sleep doctors in your area to see how soon they could get you in ... This really won't take you that long and even if it does it'll be worth it. It will happen for you, sometimes there are hoops to jump through. I've read a lot of people's journeys where they've tried and tried and its taken them years to get approved for surgery.. Hang in there and stay positive. Negativity will only make things harder on you. Keep your head up. Katrina :-)

If they paid attention to the medical records I sent in  they'd have seen it contained the weigh in information. I'm going to have to call them, the number they gave is a recording and i gives a new number which is for a long distance phone service customers, and then my doctor, go in to see him. Why couldn't they just accept the fact I've already weighed in and they have the copies from each day I went in.

Hey we all know how confusing medical records are. To make it a little easier I was thinking you look through the medical records and on a spreadsheet program (like Microsoft Excel) write down the date and your weight and BMI at that time. Do that for the whole 6 months. Unfortunately things don't just happen for most of us, we have to make it happen.
